Sanya Travel Remotest Corner Earth Resort

Sanya Travel Remotest Corner Earth ResortThe Remotest Corner of the Earth Resort, or Tianya Haijiao, is doubtlessly Sanya's most famous scenic beauty spot and the highlight for many visitors who come to experience the area's spectacular beaches, expansive sea views and rich history. The cape, which is located about 20 km west of Sanya, is a perfect harmonization of natural creation, with bleached white sands, turquoise seas, deep blue skies and verdant hills. Rising over the beach is an ancient rock formation inscribed with Chinese characters meaning The Edge of the Sky written by Chengzhe, chief magistrate of Yazhou Prefecture in the Qing Dynasty. Another inscription nearby reads The End of the Sea. A rock formation inscribed with Column South is featured on China's two-Yuan banknote. The cape takes its name from the then traditional, and now historic and incorrect, belief that China was then literally, itself, the entire civilized world, and that the country's most southern shore marks the end of the world. The Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo, among others, was banished here due to the cape's remoteness. The area has been developed in recent years with a landscaped park and gardens running parallel to the beach and parking and shopping facilities at the gate. Visitors to the cape will encounter people of the indigenous Li community retailing various handicrafts, coral and seashells.Sanya Travel Remotest Corner Earth Resort

Sanya Travel Luhuitou Park

Luhuitou Park is located high on a hill overlooking Sanya, providing visitors with sweeping vistas of the city, its surrounding area, and the South China Sea. The park features a 12-meter tall statue commemorating the legend of a brave young hunter and a mountain deer that was apparently transformed into a beautiful young girl. In the legend, a hunter of the Li community tracked a deer to the cliff's edge. The deer is said to have then turned its head and transformed into a girl who became the hunter's bride. The park takes its name, which means, 'deer turns its head' from the legend.
