Beijing, Aug. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Services and management provided by the government have played an important role in the development of the Central Business District (CBD).
When CBD was in the initial stages of construction, the
Beijing municipal government made great efforts to create a management system that would be able to meet international standards. The Chaoyang District where the CBD is located was encouraged to explore new methods of operation.

In 2001, the
Beijing CBD Administrative Committee was established. An industrial and commercial office was set up this year and statistical, taxation offices will be built in the future. It has proved to be an efficient and convenient service platform for the investment.
The
Beijing CBD Investment and Service Center was established in 2001, which has 17 offices that can make administrative approvals.
These offices have provided investors and enterprises in China and abroad with "one-stop" service - acceptance at one stop, examination and approval on one line, disposal within limited time and unified payment procedure - according to an official surnamed Liu, who works in the CBD administrative committee.

Communications among enterprises and between enterprises and the government are important. Therefore, the
Beijing CBD Chamber of Finance,
Beijing CBD Chamber of Media Industry and
Beijing CBD Association of Property Management & Real Estate Development have been established one by one.
The chambers regularly release information about laws, regulations and policies to the member enterprises. They also bring the difficulties and needs of enterprises to related departments for solutions.

The CBD boasts about 1-million-sq-m green areas, including around 610,000 sq m of rooftop greenery and vertical green spaces. Another 420,000 sq m are dedicated to public green spaces, including four parks measuring 10,000 sq m each.
Security plan
The security plan includes several sub-systems, such as digital contingency plans for high-rise buildings, a fire alarm system, a bilingual emergency rescue system, a multi-language emergency alarm system and a CBD security control command and data center.

Beijing CBD with the rest of the world,
Beijing CBD International Business Festival has been held annually since 2000. Through exhibitions, forums and other forms, achievements of
Beijing CBD are displayed to the outside world. So far, the festival has become one of the most important international business activities in China.
The ninth
Beijing CBD International Business Festival is going to be held this autumn.
The
Beijing CBD International Forum, one of the activities at the ninth festival, will invite government officials, entrepreneurs, economic experts and academics to discuss and explore key problems and future trends of the economic development of both China and the world in a global context.
