Gov.cn - 10-Feb-2008

Passengers taking Beijing's subway rides will be able to use mobile phones when the trains run in the tunnel.

Beijing Evening News reported the cell phone signal will cover the metro line 1 and 2, the earliest subway system built in the city.

The city has seen growing investment in the metro construction in recent years, revealed Wang Hao, an official in charge of the construction of the city's infrastructure.

Wang said more transport hub will be built where ground buses and subway lines meet to facilitate interchange for citizens.
