Korea looks into new markets

ttg - 10-Jan-2008

THE Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) carried out a market survey on the potential of Vietnam, Mexico and the Middle East as source markets for inbound visitors to the country in the long term.

Survey findings showed Vietnam was a promising market due to Vietnamese interest in Korean culture.

The Middle East was seen by survey respondents, drawn from Korea's tourism industry, as "high added-value" visitors who are now more willing to travel to Asia.

As there were no direct flight between Mexico and Korea, industry members indicated the possibility of working jointly with Japan, which has flight connections with Mexico, to develop this market.
