HK, Macao to Strengthen Tourism Ties

Hong kong and Macao will strengthen ties in the development and promotion of multi- destination itineraries, especially amid the adoption of new holiday and paid leave policies in the Chinese mainland, Hong kong tourism official said Wednesday.
Hong kong and Macao tourism officials on Wednesday discussed honest and quality tourism and joint efforts in the development and promotion of multi-destination itineraries, as well as the impact on Hong kong and Macao tourism of the new holiday and paid leave policies in the Chinese mainland.
Hong kong and Macao are part of a larger tourism area, and have unique appeal to their visitors, Commissioner for Tourism of Hong kong Au King-chi said.
Au led a tourism delegation to meet Tourist Office Director of Macao Eng Joao Manuel Costa Antunes in Macao to exchange views on tourism issues. This was the first exchange meeting arranged under the new annual tourism exchange mechanism between the two places.
Au said the new exchange mechanism provides an effective platform for both sides to exchange views on tourism policy issues and to deepen collaboration and foster partnership in tourism development and promotion between the two places. (source:xinhua) |
