Chinese Vice Premier confers with entrepreneurs, scholars

Beijing, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan conferred on Thursday afternoon with entrepreneurs and scholars who were in Beijing to attend a economic consultancy forum organized by the prestigious Tsinghua University.
Wang expressed his welcome to those who were to watch the Beijing Olympic Games.
Wang noted that Chinese government has the confidence and capability to maintain a stable growth of its economy in the current international situation challenged by many uncertainties in global economy and financial system.
"We (Chinese government) will unswervingly stick to the socialist path with the Chinese characteristics and push forward the opening and reform process", Wang said.
"We should diminish prejudice and misunderstanding and further boost international cooperation to address the challenges posed by the economic globalization", Wang said.
